Bludfhart This album absolutely blew my mind. Pretty much every aspect that I love of extreme music in one album. Easily an AOTY contender already. Favorite track: The Paint of an Invader.

Jacob Ballance Auditory bliss. Cave Sermon have created an absolute crushing record with more riffs than you can shake a stick at, and incredibly poignant (often emotional) songwriting. Each listen of this record I catch onto something new and I have no doubt it will be one of my favorites of the year. Favorite track: The Paint of an Invader.

Oui vraiment merci Cave Sermon.

Eyes watching over me Expectations smothering me Inhaling black smoke Deep breathing servitude The mind and the body melt Scorched by the sun They coagulate And when it’s over Unrecognised, unsalvageable Concrete trapping heat Perfect grey jagged edges cave in on me Things being pulverised in the distance Crushed into a fine dust Dead carcass in the gutter Live carcass on the street No thought of the future I drift off Nothing looking back A gaze that sees no reflections A trance-like state The smell of burnt particles left behind Sounds of the city fade away Haze clears All concrete things are dissolving Around me One thing flows into another smoothly No tangible thoughts exist here

The bar has stopped moving The frontier retreats, cowardly Nothing sees me Pleased by it’s acolyte Bask in the emptiness Inside me there is a pulse Exhale black smoke Impurity is spewed What I have is enough All of my energy is refocused inward The bar has stopped moving The frontier retreats What I have is enough Am I lost in here So much that is squandered All of my energy is refocused inward I was created in the image of an expanse Nothing sees me In loneliness I am crystallised Inside me there is a pulse Exhale black smoke Impurity is spewed into the air Scars heal over Sadness is regeneration In loneliness I am crystallised Liquid gold trickles down Pools around the foundation Hardens Unshakeable, resplendent

Liquid Gold 08:41
Born of this capeta, I cannot go on I will not allow it to live within me To let it spread and mutate into something unspeakable Chemicals remain in the body forever I feel every barb Keeled over Lens glistening Every thorn becomes a precious gemstone A seed for the future In the rapids of grief I am torn apart My remains cascade down and scatter Flowing through creeks and rivers Until they are swallowed up by the ocean
4.
I was once the paint of an invader Splattered onto dry earth Brushed over aeons Slathered onto alien skin Paraded through the streets of the new world But I have escaped My grotesque identity heals Some parts are cauterised Other parts are sewn together for the first time The drought is over More rain than I have ever seen Soaking through my body And through the layers of history below A different type of grey fills the air The cold touches my skin I feel others around me Haven for deprived beings This is not the ruinous inferno Not the fear of being devoured Not the mess of wires at my feet Not the slouch back to the dark

Somewhere between memory and escape There is a tiny island We swim out to reach it My legs flail helplessly But I don’t think for a second We arrive at the shoreline The wind picks up The sand lashes at my shins like a thousand tiny knives I’m thrown upwards My arms have been replaced with wings I feel the hollowness of my bones I fly back over the mainland and wave goodbye Further and further away I am with the stars now And when it is time I will explode But I am pulled back to earth by the weight of routine I hear sirens in the distance I move between my bed and my chair I stare at a screen Hideous concoction of atoms
